Sixth Sitting of the Committee on Health and the Family

The sixth sitting of the Committee on Health and the Family, held on 11 October at the library of the Institute of Public Health of Serbia “Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut”, was attended by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr Nevena Karanovic.


The sixth sitting of the Committee on Health and the Family, held on 11 October at the library of the Institute of Public Health of Serbia “Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut”, was attended by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr Nevena Karanovic. The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson Snezana Stojanovic–Plavsic.

The Committee members were greeted by the host, Institute Director Dr Tanja Knezevic. The main topic of the sitting was the health status of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia with a special focus on mass noninfectious diseases. Dr Ivan Ivanovic presented the Health Statistics Annual Yearbook of the Republic of Serbia. Dr Maja Krstic briefed the Committee on the basic results of the research done on the health of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia in 2006. In the concluding exposition of the subject “Noninfectious Diseases in the Republic of Serbia”, Dr Dragan Miljus pointed out the increase of malignant conditions, diabetes and heart conditions.
