In her address, she particularly highlighted the fact that the National CIRED Committee of Serbia is a professional and expert organisation, which gathers prominent experts and aims to facilitate an exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of electricity distribution, adding that consultations such as this one are the place to reach that goal.

"The fact that these consultations have had a regional character since 2004 is particularly important, which contributes even more significantly to the business and professional connection of experts from the region who can exchange experiences on the development and management of the electricity distribution system in direct contact," said the president of the Chairperson the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy adding that the entire energy sector can expect major changes, especially in the field of power engineering, in order to achieve the environmental goals that have been set in Europe.

"By adopting amendments to the Law on Energy and strategic documents in the field of energy and environmental protection, the conditions have been created in Serbia to contribute to the fulfilment of this common goal," said Paunovic.

"Given that at this 14th Conference, with over 800 participants, 82 expert papers will be presented, answers will certainly be given to some of the many challenges facing distributors, and guidelines for future work and development of the electrical distribution system", concluded Paunovic.
