Talks about preserving the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro
On 16 June, officials of the Socialist Party of Serbia Deputies’ Group met heads of the Movement for Preserving the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, a non-governmental organisation.
On 16 June, officials of the Socialist Party of Serbia Deputies’ Group met heads of the Movement for Preserving the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, a non-governmental organisation.
The chairman of the Movement’s Executive Board, Professor Dr Slavenko Terzic, stressed the historical connections between the two peoples, adding that preservation of the State Union was not only in the interests of the people of Serbia and Montenegro, but also of great importance for stability in the region.
The chairman of the Socialist Party of Serbia Deputies’ Group, Ivica Dacic, stressed the Party’s support for the idea of preserving unity of Serbia and Montenegro, and announced the formal submission of a proposal to allow Montenegrin citizens residing outside Montenegro to vote in a possible referendum on Montenegrin independence.
