Talks with Radio Free Europe representatives
The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and acting President of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, today met the President of Radio Free Europe, Thomas Dine, and the organisation’s representatives in Serbia and Montenegro.

Mr Markovic acquainted Mr Dine with the current political situation and the upcoming presidential elections, underlining that procedures foreseen by law had been implemented and that it was now up to the voters to turn out in as great numbers as possible, since high turnout would guarantee the legitimacy of the new president-elect.
The talks also focused on the importance of Radio Free Europe, with Mr Dine stressing the significance of the service, and expressing his hope that Radio Free Europe’s impartial reporting would contribute to the stability and freedom of speech, media and institutions in the region.
