The Kosovo and Metohia Committee held its third sitting on 25 September, attended by the Minister of Kosovo and Metohia, Slobodan Samardzic, Chairman of the Kosovo and Metohia Co-Ordination Centre, Vuko Antonijevic, and heads of services for the return and humanitarian issues and humanitarian and financial issues, Bora Tajic and Mirjana Cojbasic. The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman, Vladimir Milentijevic.

At the beginning of the proceedings, member of the Committee Miroslav Markicevic submitted a Bill on State Funds for AP Kosovo and Metohia. It was decided that it will be discussed at the next sitting, which should, according to the proposals of those present, be held in Kosovo.

Minister Samardzic informed the Kosovo and Metohia Committee of the current direction of the negotiations on the future status of AP Kosovo and Metohia. During his presentation, Minister Samardzic pointed out that Serbia has a good plan and strategy which would reconcile the three segments: having Serbia keep the sovereignty and territorial integrity in Kosovo, having Serbs in Kosovo live in their own country, Serbia, with the authority to protect their integrity and safety, as well as fulfilling the request of the majority of Albanians to independently govern their lives. Minister Samardzic, with the help of his aids, also presented the Plan of activities of the Ministry of Kosovo and Metohia for the period ending with 31 December 2007.

The members of the Committee went on to open a discussion with Minister Samardzic. The Committee concluded that the next sitting will be held in Kosovo and Metohia (in the next 10 to 15 days), that the Committee will submit the Bill on State Funds for AP Kosovo and Metohia, as well as that the Ministry will submit a written report on the expenditure of funds in Kosovo and Metohia from the beginning of its mandate.
