Third Sitting of the Subcommittee on the Information Society and Digitalisation

At the sitting held on 21 July 2021, the Subcommittee on the Information Society and Digitalisation discussed organising a public hearing on the topic “Digitalisation in the economy – potentials and challenges”.

Subcommittee Chairperson Marina Ragus said that, at the proposal of MP Milica Dacic, the first two of the planned seven public hearings, would be held in science and technology parks in Cacak (on 3 September 2021) and in Nis.

She said that the Subcommittee had expanded its activities to fostering contacts between small and underdeveloped communities and the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment and that the plan is to secure scholarships for promising students and young talents.

MP Milijana Sakic explained that the idea is to invite Serbian schools with IT classes to delegate students who would visit science and technology centres and develop contacts with the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment. The plan is to establish a single database of talents so that the Office can follow the students’ academic development and so that they could be included in different projects after graduation from university, as well as during their studies.

The Subcommittee members ruled to submit a proposal to organise a public hearing on the topic “Digitalisation in the economy – potentials and challenges” to the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society.

The sitting was chaired by Subcommittee Chairperson Marina Ragus.
