At the sitting held on 10 March, the Finance Committee considered the amendments to the bills falling within the purview of this working body. The sitting was chaired by Zoran Krasic, Committee Chairman.
Out of the 25 amendments the deputies had submitted to the Bill on Prevention of Money-Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, the Committee endorsed two amendments also accepted by the Government. The Committee did not accept any of the 21 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Expropriation Law and neither did the Government.
Having considered the amendments to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Tax Procedure and Tax Administration, the Committee decided to accept six amendments also accepted by the Government, while 11 amendments were rejected.
The Committee members discussed and accepted the DPS Deputy Group’s request to open a discussion at one of the upcoming Committee sittings on the state of economic subjects (big, small enterprises and entrepreneurs) whose accounts are frozen. Elaborating the request, Committee member Radojko Obradovic stressed that, at the moment, about 60 000 economic subjects in Serbia suffer different forms of financial blockade, adding that the National Bank of Serbia and appropriate ministries should submit reports to the Committee and the National Assembly on the situation in this field, with a proposal of measures aimed at solving the issue of economic illiquidity.
