Twenty-Fourth Sitting of the Youth and Sports Committee
The Youth and Sports Committee held its twenty-fourth sitting on 24 February 2011. The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milan Vuckovic and attended by Minister of Youth and Sport Snezana Samardzic-Markovic and associates.

The Committee members considered in principle the Bill on Sports, submitted by the Government of the
Minister Samardzic-Markovic presented the Bill to the Committee. She stressed that a long time has passed since the current Law on Sports was passed in 1996 and the new developments call for an amendment. The Minister added that the new law should define the rights and duties of sports subjects, all the organisational forms in the sphere, protect the rights of sportsmen and women, as well as introduce obligatory licensing and regulate the privatisation of the clubs.
Following a debate, the Committee members endorsed the Bill in principle. Committee Chairman Milan Vuckovic was elected Committee rapporteur to the National Assembly sitting.
