Twenty-Seventh Sitting of the Youth and Sports Committee
The Youth and Sports Committee held its twenty-seventh sitting on 27 June 2011. The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milan Vuckovic and attended by State Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sport Ivana Kovacevic and associates and the first advisor at the Department of International, Cultural, Educational, Technological and Sports Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nada Latinovic.
The Committee members reviewed the Bill on Youth in principle, which was presented to them by State Secretary Kovacevic. She stressed that the Bill aims to improve the social position of the youth and create conditions conducive to the realisation of their needs and interests in all of their areas of interest. Kovacevic also elaborated the manner of organisation of the associations implementing youth activities which would be realised through youth associations. In addition, she outlined the manner in which the Youth Council, Provincial Youth Council and Local Self-Government Units’ Youth Council and youth office would be defined.
Following a debate, the Committee members accepted the Bill on the Youth in principle. Committee Chairman Milan Vuckovic was appointed the Committee’s rapporteur to the National Assembly session.
The Committee members went on to debate the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement on Cooperation in the field of culture, higher education, scientific research, education, expert training, communications, youth and sport between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of education, culture and sport, submitted by the Government.
Following the debate, the Committee members accepted both the Bills in principle. Committee Chairman Milan Vuckovic was appointed the Committee’s rapporteur to the National Assembly session.
