The three-day summit is attended by more than 400 women parliamentarians from all over the world. The Women Parliamentary Network’s representatives are MPs Dubravka Filipovski and Stefana Miladinovic.
On the first day of the summit, at the panel on Future of Regional Cooperation, as a best practice example, MP Dubravka Filipovski presented the First Conference of Women Parliamentarians of South-East Europe, organised by the Women Parliamentary Network in Belgrade on 2 and 3 March 2015, with the support of the OSCE Mission in Serbia, and attended by 25 women parliamentarians from 10 countries of South-East Europe. The Memorandum of Cooperation the participants signed at the end of the Conference is the first step toward establishing a gender equality union of women parliamentarians of South-East Europe.
On the second day of the summit, WPN Coordinator Stefana Miladinovic took part in the panel on female leadership, underlining the importance of networking at all levels of politics for the empowerment of women.
Stressing the positive impact of the Women Parliamentary Network in Serbia on the empowerment of women, Miladinovic listed the experiences relating to overcoming inequality and highlighted the importance of dialogue between men and women.
MPs Dubravka Filipovski and Stefana Miladinovic also participated in the working group on the role of parliamentary networks where they used the results of the Women Parliamentary Network’s efforts to illustrate the body’s role in Serbia’s parliamentary work.
