11th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 9 March 2021, the members of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government considered the Proposal of Candidates for the Election of Members of the Anti-Corruption Agency Council, submitted by the Minister of Justice.


Vladimir Vins, representative of the Ministry of Justice, informed the Committee members about the results of the public call for the election of five members of the Anti-Corruption Agency Council, called by the Ministry of Justice in line with the Law on the Anti-Corruption Agency.

After the presentation, the Committee noted that Minister of Justice Maja Popovic had formulated a Proposal of Candidates as the authorized nominator and submitted to the National Assembly on 18 February 2021 a proposal of 19 candidates for Council members, followed by a retraction of one candidate on 3 March 2021.

The Committee decided to propose that the National Assembly consider the Proposal of Candidates for the Election of Members of the Anti-Corruption Agency Council, and pass a Decision on the election of five Council members.

said that some of the provisions of the Law on Determination of Property Origin and Special Tax, adopted in February 2020 and about to go into force in March 2021, need to be amended to eliminate potential problems that might emerge in its enforcement.

The Committee members went on to formulate the Proposal of the Decision on the termination of office of President of the Misdemeanour Court in Negotin, Basic Court in Krusevac and Basic Court in Novi Pazar and forwarded it to the National Assembly for consideration and ruling.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Vladimir Djukanovic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Nevena Veinovic, Sanja Lakic, Daniel Gyivánovity, Dubravka Kralj, Vesna Krisanov, Djordje Komlenski, Sanja Jefic Brankovic, Nenad Baros, Nebojsa Pavlovic, Doc. Dr Mihailo Jokic and Jelena Zaric Kovacevic.
