27th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 7 December 2021, the members of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government considered the bills concerning the salaries of public sector employees, presented by State Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Maja Puzic.

The representative of the submitter Maja Puzic presented, in principle, the Bill amending the Law on Public Service Employees, Bill amending the Law on Salary System of Public Sector Employees, Bill amending the Law on Salaries of Employees of Public Agencies and Other Organizations Founded by the Republic of Serbia, Autonomous Province or Local Self-Government Unit and the Bill amending the Law on Salaries of Civil Servants and General Service Employees in Bodies of Autonomous Provinces and Local Self-Government Units. She said that the salary system reform had started in 2015 as the component and key part of the fiscal consolidation measures aimed at controlling the expenses of public administration employees and achieving fiscal stability. The new salary system is based on the idea that the pay for the same or comparable work should be equal in all parts of the public administration.

Following the presentation and discussion, the Committee ruled to propose that the National Assembly accept said bills.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Vladimir Djukanovic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Daniel Gyivanovity, Dejan Kesar, Biljana Pantic Pilja, Dubravka Kralj, Toma Fila, Velibor Milojicic, Djordje Komlenski, Nenad Baros, Djordje Dabic, Nebojsa Pavlovic, Doc. Dr Mihailo Jokic, Jelena Zaric Kovacevic and Dragan M. Markovic.
