Gojkovic Meets with Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic met today with Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, currently visiting Serbia.
Gojkovic informed the Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister about the Serbian Assembly’s activities concerning the Euro-integration process, in line with the Resolution on the role of the National Assembly in the European integration process.
The National Assembly Speaker pointed out that the opening of chapters 23 and 24 is a major recognition for Serbia and the progress it has made in conducting reforms, and a significant message of the European Union to the citizens of Serbia and all the other countries striving to join the organisation that it continues with the enlargement policy despite the challenges it faces such as Brexit, migrations and terrorism.
Tsintsadze mentioned the wide spectrum of opportunities for interparliamentary cooperation both at the level of working bodies, especially in the sphere of foreign affairs and European integration, and parliamentary delegations to international organisations.
Tsintsadze reaffirmed Ukraine’s non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo-Metohija, saying that she hoped all the agreements achieved in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, including the establishment of the association/community of Serb majority municipalities, will be carried out.
