NARS Speaker Receives French Ambassador

Today, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of France, H.



Today, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of France, H.E. Francois-Xavier Deniau.

Welcoming the Ambassador, Djukic-Dejanovic thanked France for its support in forwarding Serbia’s candidacy for EU membership. Deniau stressed that France firmly supports Serbia’s progress towards the EU and would continue to cultivate the privileged relations between Serbia and France.

Both sides emphasised their pleasure at the creation of friendship groups at their respective parliaments, as well as a NARS Standing Delegation at the Francophonie PA. They expect an intensification of parliamentary cooperation in the upcoming period which would be greatly furthered by the visit of the delegation of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence of the Republic of France Senate in December, announced by Ambassador Deniau.
