NARS Speaker Speaks on International Human Rights Day
Today, 62 years after the adoption of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we can note that, globally, the respect for human rights has made significant progress, and the awareness of the duty and need to observe human rights has been significantly raised.
Today, 62 years after the adoption of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we can note that, globally, the respect for human rights has made significant progress, and the awareness of the duty and need to observe human rights has been significantly raised. The road to ensuring the full application of all the provisions of the Universal Declaration everywhere is still long.
The observance of human rights is not the responsibility of governments and national parliaments alone, but of each individual as well, as we are all obliged to oppose the abuse and violation of human rights including discrimination, repression and violence. As the same time, we are obliged to bring those who violate human rights before justice. To this end, we must not only respect the idea of rights, but also support the true champions of human rights in their efforts to ensure the full implementation of the Universal Declaration.
