Seventh Sitting of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee

At the sitting held on 20 September 2024, the members of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee were briefed on the work done so far on the drafting of the Republic of Serbia Agricultural and Rural Development Strategy for the period 2025-2034.

State Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Jelena Blagojevic presented the activities launched and completed so far in the drafting of the Strategy which is supposed to set the strategic directions for the of agricultural and rural development.

Following a comprehensive discussion, in which the Committee members asked for further information on the presented activities voicing their own opinions and views concerning the preparations of the strategy, the Committee formulated a Conclusion on the considered item on the agenda.

The Committee went on to consider the Bill amending and modifying the Republic of Serbia 2024 Budget Law, Section 24 – Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, submitted by the Government.

Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Nenad Katanic and representative of the Ministry of Finance Marija Filipovic presented the proposed amendments and modification in Section 214, stating that the bulk of the money was allocated for subsidies viz. an additional 80 billion RSD have been allotted for subsidies.

Following a discussion, The Committee members accepted the Bill amending and modifying the Republic of Serbia 2024 Budget Law, Section 24 – Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Marijan Risticevic, and attended by the following Subcommittee members and deputy members: Radoslav Milojicic, Slobodan Ilic, Vladimir Pajic, Jozsef Tobias, Miroslav Aleksic, Milija Miletic, Veroljub Matic, Dejan Bulatovic, Dragan Jovanovic, Dusan Nikezic, Dragan Jonic, Nikola Pantelic, Milos Gnjidic and Ivan Karic.
