Sixth Sitting of the Youth and Sports Committee

At the sitting held on 25 March, the members of the Youth and Sports Committee analysed the Committee’s activities in the period 21 October to 31 December 2008 and considered the Committee’s 2009 Work Plan and Program.



At the sitting held on 25 March, the members of the Youth and Sports Committee analysed the Committee’s activities in the period 21 October to 31 December 2008 and considered the Committee’s 2009 Work Plan and Program.

The Committee Chairman stated that the Committee had held 5 sittings in 2008, that all foreseen topics had been discussed at them and that the Committee had realised its 2008 plan in full.

The proposed 2009 Work Plan and Program, in addition to legislative activities, covers topics dealing with the realisation of projects and funds expended for the 2009 Universiade, the implementation of the National Youth Strategy, projects for the construction of new sports and school gyms and fields in the Republic of Serbia, projects for the revitalisation of the Republic Sport Institute, results of the “Character against violence” action, presentation of national awards for particular contribution to the development and affirmation of sport and scholarships for top athletes.

Following the discussion, the Committee members unanimously accepted the 2009 Work Plan and Program.

The Committee members went on to agree to invite representatives of the 2009 Universiade Organising Committee to the next sitting, to report to the Committee on the spent funds. Also, the Committee members endorsed the realisation of the deputies’ indoor football tournament.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Milan Vuckovic.
