Fifth Sitting of the Finance Committee

The Finance Committee held its fifth sitting on 25 September and 24 November 2008.At the sitting held on 25 September, the members of the Finance Committee were briefed on the Rules of Procedure, Preliminary work programme and Proposal of the Financial plan of the State Audit Institution for 2009, as well as the Activity Report for the period between 27 September and 31 December 2007. The Committee members also discussed Ljiljana Dmitrovic-Saponja’s resignation from the post of member of the Council of the State Audit Institution.

Seventh Sitting of the Finance Committee

At the sitting held on 24 October, the Finance Committee members discussed in principle the Bill amending and modifying the Republic of Serbia 2008 Budget Law with proposals of decisions granting assent to the decisions amending and modifying the 2008 Financial Plans of: a) the Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance, b) the National Employment Office and c) the Republic Institute for Health Insurance, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

Sixth Sitting of the Finance Committee

At the sitting held on 9 October, the members of the Finance Committee were briefed on the Report on the measures implemented to alleviate the negative effects of the world financial crisis on the financial system of the Republic of Serbia, and through it on the state of economy and citizens’ standard.

At the sitting held on 5 September the Finance Committee discussed the nominations and determined the Proposal of the Decision for the election of a member of the Council of the National Bank of Serbia.

Third Sitting of the Finance Committee

At the sitting held on 4 September, the Finance Committee determined the Proposal of the Decision of cessation of Function of Prof. Dr Borko Krstic at the post of member of the Council of the National Bank of Serbia, due to resignation. The Committee also discussed the nominations and determined the Proposal of the Decision for the election of members of the Council of the National Bank of Serbia.

Second Sitting of the Finance Committee

At the sitting held on 16 July the Finance Committee discussed in principle the set of bills on the confirmation of international financial agreements included in the agenda for the Fourth Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2008. The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson Jorgovanka Tabakovic.
