Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region Meets with Representatives of Alliance of Serbian Associations of Slovenia
On Wednesday, 4 June 2014, the Chairman of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region Dr Janko Veselinovic and Committee member Aleksandar Cotric received Nikola Todorovic, Slovenian delegate in the Assembly of the Diaspora, and Milena Andjelic Djukic, professor at the University of Ljubljana, who delivered a truckload of relief for the flood-stricken areas of Serbia on the behalf of the Alliance of Serbian Associations of Slovenia.

The members of the National Assembly’s Women’s Parliamentary Network met with Finnish MP Elisabeth Naucler to discuss the problems women engaged in international security and European diplomacy come up against, how to set up a parliamentary oversight mechanism over the government’s European affairs and the role of MPs in raising awareness on the importance of women’s participation in diplomacy and conflict resolution.

Second Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee
At the sitting held on 2 June, the Culture and Information Committee discussed the European Union and Serbia’s endangered heritage. Minister of Culture and the Media Ivan Tasovac informed the Committee about the activities and preliminary estimates of heritage endangered by the recent floods in the Republic of Serbia. Minister Tasovac said that the damage to heritage sites is currently being assessed, the report on which would be published once all the teams in the field had completed their work.
