The Legislative Committee held its ninety-third session on 20 September. The Committee discussed, in principle and in particular, the Bill Amending and Modifying the Pension and Disability Insurance Act, the Bill on Voluntary Pension Funds and Pension Plans, the Bill on the Payment of Contributions for Pension and Disability Insurance for Certain Categories of Employee Beneficiaries, the Bill on the Public Debt of the Republic of Serbia Arising From Assumption of Obligations of the Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance of Employees for Unpaid Pensions and Reimbursements, and the Bill on the Public Debt of the Republic of Serbia Arising From Assumption of Obligations of the Republic Fund for Pension and Disability Insurance of Farmers for Unpaid Pensions and Reimbursements.

National Assembly Chairman visits Eastern, Southern and Western Serbia
As part of preparations for European integration and creating preconditions for more substantial investments in Serbia, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, and the chairperson of the European Integrations Committee of the National Assembly, Ksenija Milivojevic, visited several towns in Eastern and Southern Serbia on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 September 2005.Mr Markovic began his tour of less developed Serbian regions, designed to acquaint him with their tourist and industrial resources, by visiting Golubac, Donji Milanovac, Tekija and Kladovo, where he learned more about the tourist potential of the Djerdap region.

48th session of the Privatisation Committee
At its session held on 16 September 2005, the Privatisation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republicof Serbiadiscussed and adopted the Report of the Ministry of the Economy on the Activities of the Privatisation Agency for August 2005, along with its associated Programme of Activities of the Agency for September 2005.Members of the Privatisation Committee adopted the Report of the Ministry of the Economy on the Activities of the Share Fund of the Republicof Serbiafor August 2005.The Committee also discussed the Report of the Privatisation Agency on individual cases of cession of contracts on sale of capital or assets to third parties.

Animal Protection Resolution presented to National Assembly Chairman
Members of ORCA (Organisation for Respect and Care for Animals) today visited the National Assembly of the Republicof Serbia, met National Assembly Chairman Predrag Markovic, and presented him with the Animal Protection Resolution for Serbiaand Montenegro, a document drafted by this non-governmental organisation and submitted to appropriate public authorities.
